Product Description
Hyne Beam 21C has a superb record for strength and performance. Engineers have found Hyne Beam 21 can often replace steel, even when high loads need to be supported. Its hard wood makes it a popular choice for Architects and Designers who use it where support structures also need to be aesthetically pleasing.
SIZES
- 65mm x120, 155, 185, 215, 245, 280, 300, 315, 350, 380, 410mm.
- 85mm x 155, 185, 215, 245, 280, 300, 315, 350, 380, 410, 445, 475, 505, 535, 570, 600mm
- Custom sizes can be designed to suit special applications up to 800mm in depth.
LENGTHS 0.6m increments to 16.8m.
GRADES: I-Built Hyne Beam 21C is available in two grades in accordance with AS/NZS1328.1-1998.
- STR – Structural Grade or Appearance C - Mixed Hardwoods
- SEL – Select Grade or Appearance A - Spotted Gum. Forest Reds on Application. CURVED – Forest Reds Only
Scope of use
Common uses include:Lintels, Bearers, Roof Beams, Rafters, Curves, Columns andPortal Frames where strength and aesthetics are important.
Manufactured from a minimum Durability Class 2 TimberSpecies for use in both internal applications or external,above ground, weather exposed applications.
Hyne 21C is manufactured from Spotted Gum is considered a Bushfire Resistant Timber in accordance with AS 3959–2009up to and including BAL-29. If used in Weather Exposed Applications refer to Hyne Technical Data Sheets 5, 6, 8 and 9.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.2, B2.3.2(b)

Hyne Timber’s Glue Laminated Timber (GLT) has beenindependently certified by Bureau Veritas, a JAS-ANZaccredited third-party Certification Body, under their ‘S’Mark Product Certification Scheme. The ‘S’ Mark is anAustralasian stamp of assurance, confirming to the designand construction industry that Hyne Timber’s GLT is auditedand certified to the applicable Standard ‘AS/NZS 1328.1:1998,Glue Laminated Structural Timber’.

Maintenance requirements
Durability:Manufactured from a minimum Durability Class 2 Timber Species for use in both internal applications or external,above ground, weather exposed applications.Naturally resistant to termite attack. Hyne 21C manufactured from Spotted Gum is considered a Bush fire Resistant Timber in accordance with AS 3959–2009 up to and including BAL-29.
