Product Description
Prolam glulam beams are engineered structural timber beams, made in New Zealand from Pinus radiata and Douglas fir to AS/NZS 1328. More dimensionally stable than solid timber, with less twisting, warping and splitting. FSC-certified options available. Third-party certified by AsureQuality (AEWP05).
Structural Grades
PL8 and PL12; PL12 gives higher bending strength for longer spans.
Grades and Finishes
Visual (Appearance A) — machined, bandsawn, sanded and sealed, or pre-primed. Non-visual (utility) for concealed use.
Sizes
Thickness 42–260 mm. Widths 88–595 mm. Lengths 3.6–7.2 m; to 12.0 m in H3.2/H5.
Treatment
All to NZS 3640: H1.2 KD interior; H3.2 KD MCA exterior above-ground; H5 KD MCA in-ground.
Applications
Lintels, ridge beams, rafters, floor joists, deck bearers, veranda and pergola beams, and exposed trusses.
