Scope of Use
K2 Hygienic Windows are New Zealand made and are available in single-glazed or double-glazed configurations for interior applications where hygiene is of utmost importance.
Single Glazed – Glazed flush with the frame on one face with a sloping back. Available in sizes up to 7 m² of glass.
Double Glazed – Glazed flush with both faces of the frame. Available in sizes up to 7 m² of glass, with desiccant glazing bars between the glass to prevent fogging.
K2 Hygienic Windows are extremely durable, waterproof, and available in stainless steel or powder-coated frame options that provide chemical resistance against most cleaning products.

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
K2 Hygienic windows range come with a 5 year conditional warranty and have been proven, when correctly maintained and installed as per K2 Doors installation guidelines, to have a durability of 5 years + based on previous job history.
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1, F2.3.2, F2.3.3
K2 Hygienic windows range are made using non toxic materials, with glazing that complies with NZS 4223.3.

B2 Durability – B2.3.1(b)
K2 Hygienic Clean Room Windows are designed for interior applications and, when installed in accordance with K2 Doors installation details and maintained as specified, have a minimum expected durability of 5 years. This is supported by previous in-service/job history and the K2 Doors 5-year conditional warranty. This aligns with NZBC Clause B2 requirements for building elements requiring a minimum 5-year durability period. B2/VM1 recognises in-service history as one method of verifying durability.
F2 Hazardous Building Materials – F2.3.1, F2.3.2 and F2.3.3
K2 Hygienic Clean Room Windows are manufactured using materials intended to be non-toxic in normal use. The glazing is specified to comply with NZS 4223.3:2016, Glazing in buildings – Part 3: Human impact safety requirements, as referenced by F2/AS1. This provides a means of demonstrating compliance with NZBC Clause F2 in relation to the safe use of glass and glazing and reducing the risk of injury from human impact
