Scope of Use
The door set are used in
areas where the highest levels of hygiene are required. K2 Hygienic doors are typically
used in laboratories, research facilities, hospitals, dairy factories & food processing
plants.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
B2.3.1(b): K2 GRP Hygienic Doors range come with a 5 year conditional warranty and have been proven when correctly maintained and installed as per k2 doors installation guidelines to have a durability of 15 years + based on previous job history.
- Clause C4 Movement to place of safety: Performance C4.3, C4.4, C4.5
C4.3, C4.4, C4.5, K2 GRP Hygienic Doors range can be used within an escape route where relevant considerations are specified in the project requirements.
- Clause D1 Access routes: Performance D1.3.1(b), D1.3.1(c), D1.3.4(f)
D1.3.1 (b) & (c) D1.3.4 (f): K2 GRP Hygienic Doors can be used within an access route where relevant considerations are specified in the project requirements.
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1, F2.3.2, F2.3.3
F2.3.1, F2.3.2, F2.3.3 K2 GRP Hygienic Doors are made using non toxic materials, and can be
glazed with a vision panel if required that complies with NZS 4223.3.

Installation requirements
K2 GRP Hygienic Doors Installation
Door Location, ensure that door to be installed is the correct door for the correct location in the
building.
Refer to K2 Doors door detail sheet and construction floor plans.
Insure the door set is in good condition free from defects and damage prior to installation.
Install the doors as per the consented design drawings and with K2Doors installation details
available at

Ensure doors are installed plumb with correct tolerances with doors sealing well against the
seal.
Ensure all door hardware is operating correctly.
Maintenance requirements
Weekly
Visual inspection to check for any damage to door set or hardware, ensure the door closes correctly
against the seal and the latch operates. Check there is nothing that will prevent the doors from
functioning correctly.
Door Seals – 6 months
Visually check the door seals for any rips or tears. If there are any please contact K2 Doors to arrange
replacement seals. Seals may be cleaned with a mild detergent mix. Once the seal has been cleaned
rinse and dry the surface.
Door Handles – 12 months
Check that the handle is operating freely and not getting sticky, also that the striking latch is operating
correctly. If it is sticky, a squirt of WD40, CRC or silicon spray may be used to free it up. Check all
screws are tightened.
