Compliance Statement
Scope of Use
Intended Use: Designed as a continuous handrail system for public access routes, ramps, stairways, aged care facilities, educational institutions, hospitals, public transport hubs, and community facilities requiring accessibility compliance.
Standards & Compliance: Complies with NZBC Clause D1 Access Routes and NZS 4121:2001 standards for access and mobility.
Restrictions on Use: Not suitable for access routes with fall heights exceeding 1 metre, as Assistrail does not meet NZBC Clause F4 Safety from Falling requirements (use Moddex Conectabal Balustrade Systems instead).
Load Capacity: Standard design ratings are 0.35 kN/m line load and 0.6 kN concentrated load. High-load applications exceeding these limits require the Moddex Conectabal system.
Evidence
The product meets the requirements set out in the following documents, or relevant parts of cited standards within the documents:
B1 Structure: Designed and tested to AS/NZS 1170.1:2002 (Table 3.3) and AS 1657:2013 (CL6.1) loadings. Supported by Moddex PS1 (Design). Final capacity depends on the fixing substrate designed by others.
B2 Durability: Galvanized steel (AS 4792 / AS/NZS 4680) provides a 5-year minimum durability in all Exposure Zones. Grade 316 stainless steel provides a 15-year minimum durability. Subject to installation and maintenance per Moddex guidelines.
D1 Access Routes: Tested, designed, and manufactured in accordance with NZBC D1 and NZS 4121:2001 standards for access and mobility.
