Product Criteria
Design requirements
The Aquaknight Deck Drain is a hi-flow, uPVC or stainless-steel outlet with a stainless-steel clamping ring and polished stainless steel flat lid. The fittings have a clamping force suitable to seal all modern membrane installations.
Aquaknight Deck Drains are available with bottom or side exits and with 100 mm inlets and outlets of between 50 mm and 100 mm.
Refer to Aquaknight CAD details available from the website.
Installation requirements
Rebate the substrate to ensure the drain flange sits at least 1mm below the substrate level. The rebated area must be even, smooth, and free of debris. Place the Aquaknight outlet flange into the rebated hole. Pre-drill and install stainless steel screws into the substrate to secure the flange. Install the blue dust-cap. Apply adhesive over the flange, substrate and membrane. Once this has tacked off, lay down the single ply membrane. Using a heavy roller, apply pressure to the flange area. Roll the immediate area so all bubbles and air pockets are removed. With the rounded handle mark the inside edge where the blue dust cap meets the flange. Cut to the inner mark, which we will form into the outlet. Remove the dust cap. Heat the single-ply membrane. With a seam roller apply pressure and heat to form the TPO into the dropper. Check the edges with the seam probe. Heat and penny-roll any loose edges. Install the clamp ring using screws provided.
Maintenance requirements
Check the installation periodically, and after every major weather event to clear leaves & debris from accumulating around the outlet. Remove grime with warm water.
Refer to Aquaknight Industries Ltd. Membrane Drainage Maintenance Recommendations.
